Faisal Marrouki 10:30-11:30 a.m. Session Title: Lifelines for Task-Based Language Teaching in the English Language Classroom Faisal Marrouki holds an MA in English Literature. Over the last thirty-three years, he has held English Language Instructor and Lecturer teaching positions mainly at the University of Tunis I, Tunisia, (1993-2000) and Taibah University, Madinah, Saudi Arabia (2000-2020). He is now a lead teacher and the Secretary for the Professional Development and Academic Coordination Committee at the English Language Skills Department, Common First Year, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, (2021 - Present). He has published a number of articles and offered conference presentations in the fields of Postcolonial Studies and English Language Teaching. He was awarded the Naji Naaman Literary Merit Prize in 2010. |

She is enjoys developing innovative lessons for technical writing, public speaking and critical thinking to inspire future leaders to optimize their English language skills to accomplish their dreams. She is the coordinator of the Read To Lead Foundation which provides adult literacy materials to communities in need. In 2018, she received the University of Bahrain English Language Centre Excellence in Teaching Award. In 2014, she was named Teacher of the Year by the Yemeni Association of Scientists and Professionals. An avid lover of drama the arts, Diane has a passion to inspire students to develop their creative talents in script writing, costume design, acting and sound engineering to bring literature and thought-provoking stories to life. She received her M.A from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2013. She is doing her PhD at University of Torbat, Iran. She is also an idp certified IELTS trainer. Her background is in English language teaching and English language teacher education. She has published multiple papers in the field of Motivation, Critical thinking, and Vocabulary Acquisition. She is a CELTA-certified teacher with a BA in English Language and Literature and an MA in Applied Foreign Languages, both from Carthage University, Tunisia. With 14 years of teaching experience, she has developed a strong foundation in delivering high-quality education. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature (2012), a Master's in English Literature (2016),and a PhD in English Literature (2023). He also earned his CELTA certification in 2021,further strengthening his expertise in language teaching.With a strong academic focus on the intersection of language, cognition, and bilingualism,Dr. Fares's research examines how language proficiency, age, and cognitive factors influence lexical access and bilingual processing. His work includes studies on psycholinguistics, the cognitive processes behind word recognition, and the role of language in shaping social and cultural identities.Dr. Fares has published six research papers, including two in highly regarded Q1 journals,and has presented his work at various academic conferences, including a significant participation in collaboration with Cambridge University. Shahad Baqer 12:00-1:00 p.m. Session Title: Investigating Different Types of Incidental Vocabulary Learning - A Comparative Study Shahad Baqer is an ESL/ESP instructor at the Australian University. She holds a Masters degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Sheffield and is a TESOL Kuwait and TESOL International member. Shahad is a certified CELTA educator and TEA (Test of English for Aviation) rater and interlocutor from Mayflower College, UK. With over 13 years of teaching experience, Shahad taught various English language courses at both private and public universities in Kuwait. She previously held an administrative position as the coordinator for the Aviation English Program at the Australian College of Kuwait. Shahad's research interests include ESP (English for Specific Purposes) in ESL/EFL classrooms, Culture and Second Language Acquisition, Discourse Analysis, Vocabulary Learning and Testing, Technology in EFL /ESL Classrooms, Effect of Student/Teacher Rapport, Psycholinguistics and Sociolinguistics. |
