Faisal Marrouki 10:30-11:30 a.m. Session Title: Lifelines for Task-Based Language Teaching in the English Language Classroom Faisal Marrouki holds an MA in English Literature. Over the last thirty-three years, he has held English Language Instructor and Lecturer teaching positions mainly at the University of Tunis I, Tunisia, (1993-2000) and Taibah University, Madinah, Saudi Arabia (2000-2020). He is now a lead teacher and the Secretary for the Professional Development and Academic Coordination Committee at the English Language Skills Department, Common First Year, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, (2021 - Present). He has published a number of articles and offered conference presentations in the fields of Postcolonial Studies and English Language Teaching. He was awarded the Naji Naaman Literary Merit Prize in 2010. |

Giselle is passionate about leveraging innovative online learning strategies to enhance educational outcomes. | Diane Prieur 10:30-11:30 a.m. Session Title: Inspiring Readers with Interactive Activities Diane Prieur is a Lecturer at the University of Bahrain. She is enjoys developing innovative lessons for technical writing, public speaking and critical thinking to inspire future leaders to optimize their English language skills to accomplish their dreams. She is the coordinator of the Read To Lead Foundation which provides adult literacy materials to communities in need. In 2018, she received the University of Bahrain English Language Centre Excellence in Teaching Award. In 2014, she was named Teacher of the Year by the Yemeni Association of Scientists and Professionals. An avid lover of drama the arts, Diane has a passion to inspire students to develop their creative talents in script writing, costume design, acting and sound engineering to bring literature and thought-provoking stories to life. When she isn’t cooking or golfing, Diane can be found Dragon Boat Racing at the Bahrain Bay. |
Atika Etemadzadeh 12:00-1:00 p.m. Session Title: Recent Concepts in Language Learning Motivation Atika Etemadzadeh is Professor of Applied Linguistics at Bahar University in Iran. She received her M.A from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2013. She is doing her PhD at University of Torbat, Iran. She is also an idp certified IELTS trainer. Her background is in English language teaching and English language teacher education. She has published multiple papers in the field of Motivation, Critical thinking, and Vocabulary Acquisition. Her new research of motivation focuses on the new concepts in language learning motivation. |
